We are a group of 11 dedicated Carnegie Mellon University students volunteering our time during spring break to provide clean water to rural communities in Honduras. Global Water Brigades aims to provide sustainable solutions to the water crisis through community outreach and education. Throughout our week in Los Hatillos, we will be working alongside UNC Chapel Hill’s chapter of Global Water Brigades. We will mainly be laying down the infrastructure to transport water from a natural source via a gravitational system, where it will be treated and distributed to the community. We will also be doing an education workshop with local children about water pollution.
